Synopsis:

man-child. noun.

: a grown man who is very immature, therefore considered a man-child

manwhore. noun.

: a promiscuous man who has no regard for his sexual partners or the emotional value of his relationships

Rhett Morgan couldn’t have been more wrong for me. The guy drank beer in the shower, for crying out loud. He had no prospects for the future, had slept with half the women in our beach town of Kill Devil Hills, and had no desire to change his manwhore ways.

And when Ben Turner, the guy I had loved from afar for the past four years, died and I couldn’t get over his death, I desperately needed a distraction. A distraction like Rhett. So I used him for a one-night stand. Because, after all, that’s the only thing a guy like Rhett is good for…right?

***New Adult Romance. This novel is the third book in the Kill Devil Hills series, however it can be read as a standalone. Recommended for 18+

Reviews by Tanya R, Shannon P, Lita T.:

Tanya R’s Review:   4.5   ★★★★.5                                                                                                                                                                                                       You need to read Kill Devil Hills and Changing Tides before you read Pulled Under.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  I really enjoyed this book and I read it in less than a day.   Goodreads says that there are only about 131 pages so it is a fairly fast read. This is Sydney Francesca Michaels & Rhett Morgan’s story.  I love that Rhett is a “man-whore”. He is even remembered in High School by some of the teachers.  He is a legend in promiscuity.  I think that there are many men if they could be promiscuous they would be.Sydney thought she would use Rhett and I say “what is good for the goose is good for the gander as the saying goes”.  Although, it didn’t work out that way.  And, the story continues from there.   I can’t say more because I don’t do spoilers.  I did get my HEA.  Well sort of Pulled Under left off where you know there will be another book and I can’t wait to read more!I received a complimentary copy of Pulled Under by Sarah Darlington for an honest review and I give Pulled Under 4.5 stars and I am looking forward to the next book.                                                                                                                           Shannon P’s Review:   ★★★★                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Do you remember the guy that everyone warned you against, saying he was a man-whore and player?  I think we all remember THAT guy.  That’s Rhett Morgan.  He’s good looking, funny, charming, oozes sex appeal, and he knows it.  But let’s be honest, how many of us were able to actually resist that guy?  No matter how fleeting we knew it would be, we still wanted a chance to play the game.  Always hopeful to come out as the winner.  Sydney is your typical good girl, but she is able to do what others girls haven’t been able to.  She plays the player, and she does it well.  So what happens when it’s no longer a game and real feelings are involved?  Do you allow yourself to get pulled under just for the chance at the bigger win…love? Pulled Under is the next installment in the Kill Devil Hills series by Sarah Darlington.  This is the story of Rhett and Sydney and the timeline runs parallel to the previous two books which I really enjoyed.  I have to say that this one is my favorite in the series so far.  I could relate to these two characters more, and they made me laugh at times which is always a plus for me.  The chemistry between the two of them was off the charts and well written.

I give 4 stars to Pulled Under and I can’t wait to read more from Sarah Darlington.

*I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Lita T’s Review:  ★★★★                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Pulled Under (Kill Devil Hills, #3) by Sarah Darlington. Rhett has a reputation and not a very good one. We know Rhett from the previous books. This is his and Sydney’s story. Sydney has had a crush on Ben for years. When she was 16 she walks in on Ben in the gym having sex with his girlfriend. Devastated she finds herself being consoled by the town manhore Rhett, who makes her feel special by being her first kiss. He gives her a note that says to come back to see him when she in no longer jail bait. At 18 she seeks Rhett out after Ben’s death and funeral. Their story is told while it intersects with the last book Changing Tides. We get to see what happened from their perspective plus their own journey. A real good continuation of the story. All the regular cast of characters are mention in the book. Going back to scenes from the last book was like visiting a place you enjoyed but hadn’t been in a while. I liked both Rhett and Sydney and their journey to each other. I also liked Rhett and his journey to becoming the person he has wanted to be and to have a more fulfilling life. I was disappointed when the book ended and I look forward to the next book which I hope gives us more of Rhett and Sydney. I give their story 4 stars

CHANGING TIDES by Sarah Darlington

CHANGING TIDES by Sarah Darlington
“Nate West. Hollywood bad-boy. Television megastar. Womanizer. Basically everything I hate about the male species rolled into one handsome package. And yet…I want him.”

Ellie Turner is a lesbian. She has tattoos, short hair, and a ‘don’t-mess-with-me-attitude.’ She knows who she is, loves who she is, and couldn’t care less what the rest of the world thinks of her. And since she has the most kick-ass best friend on the planet, Noah Clark, even when family drama gets in the way, nothing can offset her happy-go-lucky demeanor.

Until television star Nate West comes along. All thick muscle and alpha-male testosterone. When Ellie meets him on an airplane the only thing Nate West should be good for is a brand new profile picture on Facebook. Right? Wrong. Turns out he’s good for so much more.

This man is going to flip everything Ellie thought she knew about herself upside down.

Reviews by Tanya Rae, Lita Thomas & Shannon Pacsuta:

Tanya Rae’s review:

Oh no I was not ready for Changing Tides to end! It doesn’t really end in a cliffhanger but, I still wasn’t ready for it to end! I love Nathanial and Ellie! I can’t tell you more you need to read the Synopsis but, this book was HOT! I loved Nathanial & Ellie together. Now I have to wait to see what happens to the rest of the family! I need to read more about Ben and perhaps about Rhett too. Will Ellie get pregnant? What about more of Noah & Georgie???? I have so many questions I want/need answered!

I loved this story and obviously can’t wait to read more! I look very forward to the next story in this series and I just hope to not wait too long!

This ARC was received for an honest review and I give Changing Tides 4.5 OOOOo’s (O’s for Orgasms)

I loved this story!!!!

Lita Thomas’s Review:

Changing Tides by Sarah Darlington is the second book in the Kill Devil Hills series. This is Ellie’s story. In the previous book we found out that the brother Ben was declared dead after a tragic accident while serving with the Coast Guards. In Changing Tides we find out that Ben is not dead but living in Malibu, CA. Ellie knows about it and now she, Noah, Georgina, Rhett and others are traveling to Los Angeles. On the flight there she meets a gentleman on the plane that makes her question her sexuality.

Nate West is a famous movie star who sees this cute looking girl who has a bunch of tattoos and looks like a tomboy. The story takes us on the journey of Ellie and Nate. Ellie has never had a problem with knowing who she is and who she has been attracted to sexually but now there is Nate. Nate cannot understand how this girl who he has just met has captured his heart. Ellie not only has to deal with her feelings regarding Nate but the fallout from the gang knowing Ben is alive.

A very cute story. Ellie and Nate’s journey of getting together was a joy to be a part of and their chemistry was truly hot. I give this story 4 O’s

Shannon Pacsuta’s Review:

This is the second book in the Kill Devil Hills series, and it’s the story of Ellie and Nathaniel. Ellie has always considered herself a lesbian so she doesn’t quite understand why Nathaniel elicits such a response from her. Their connection is palpable and there is no denying it. However, if they can just allow themselves to feel whatever the other person makes them feel and not try to put a label on it, they would definitely benefit from it.

Sarah Darlington once again gave me a nice, easy read. I enjoyed the way the storyline flowed and the way she developed the characters.  She also had some interesting plot twists that I certainly wasn’t expecting. There are still a lot of lingering questions for this series and I can’t wait to get the answers.

I would give Changing Tides 3.5 stars.

Reviews by Tanya Rae, Lita & Shannon:

Tanya Rae’s Review:

I enjoyed the story about Georgia & Noah! It actually covers a very serious subject of “suicide” Only Kill Devil Hills story turns out well. Many times it doesn’t. I loved the Dear Readers portion at the end of the book talking about suicide prevention and Sarah Darlington gave a HOTLINE #.

Now on to my review. I really enjoyed the story and I love Noah & Georgia and so happy that they could find a HEA in their story. I especially love when Noah first cuddles up to Georgia in bed…. Now you have to read the story because no spoilers here. 😉

I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series Changing tides! And, fortunately I have the ARC so I won’t have to wait! Ok I know that was mean. I hope you enjoy Noah’s & Georgia’s story now and March 16th you can read Changing tides the second book in the Kill Devil Hills series.

I give Kill Devil Hills 4.5 OOOOo’s (O’s for Orgasms) oh and this ARC was received for an honest review.

Lita’s Review:
Kill Devil Hill by Sarah Darlington is the first book in the Kill Devil Hill series. Noah has had a difficult life. His best friend is Ellie; she is a lesbian and he has demons. At 24 years old they are now owners of their own business. One night of partying the two end up at Ellie’s parent’s house. Ellie is using the bathroom in the basement apartment and Noah decides to use the one on the family’s bedroom floor. What he finds is Ellie’s 18 year old sister in the bathtub bleeding to death from an attempted suicide.
After she recovers and comes home from rehab the story is told of their relationship. Georgina comes home after 4 months at The Cove trying to adjust to life and her growing feelings for Noah. Noah is now fighting his feeling for Georgina, Ellie’s sister is 6 years his junior. The journey which is told by the author of them finding their way is sweet and sexy. I truly enjoyed the story and the characters. Noah is all kinds of sexy and he is a clean freak which is okay with me. A really good read. I give this book 4 O’s. This ARC was received for an honest review.

Shannon’s Review:

I enjoyed the love story of Noah and Georgina aka Georgie in Kill Devil Hills. They had a believable relationship without a lot of drama.  The fact that they had been touched by dark episodes but not defined by them made them very real for me. I’m also curious about the other characters that were introduced throughout the book.

I liked Sarah Darlington’s writing style, and I felt like she gave me a nice, easy read. This actually surprised me due to the fact that the book covers difficult life situations such as losing a loved one unexpectedly, attempted suicide, and even child abuse.  She did not have to dwell on these subject matters though because they did not make the characters who they really were. These were things that they had to deal with and move on from just as we all do in our everyday lives.

“Keep breathing. Count your breaths if you have to. One day breathing won’t be as difficult. One day you won’t have to count. I promise, there is good stuff waiting for you. It will find you.”

I found some good stuff and now I’m looking forward to reading more in this series. I give Kill Devil Hills 3.5 stars.
